We all dream and I have always dreamed big or so I thought.  But when dreams come true you get to dream bigger.

Yet it feels somewhat wrong to be writing about writing success. However, what I am really writing about is success, goals, and never giving up. Like the saying goes: if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.

 You hear about people struggling with rejection. Well in my case, the writing competitions I enter, unsuccessful entrants rarely receive a reply. So you can only imagine my delight at receiving an email to tell me I have placed 6th in the Perito Prize 2021 my writing will subsequently be published in ‘The 2021 Perito Prize Anthology’.

I have been enjoying writing since my teen years, entering a poetry competition with the help of my dad, writing for the student newspaper and enjoying storytelling. Over the last decade I have enjoyed developing and crafting my writing to enter short story competitions. While I write primarily for my own enjoyment, my goal has always been to be published for my own merits.  My recent success has made me realise that I had always seen this goal as a dream.  And when dreams come true you get to dream bigger.
