Covid-19

Covid-19 – Week seventy five: beginning 09/08/2021

As my isolation ends and I can go back into society this week, it is the small things that bring me joy. I already knew I had missed my daily walks and fresh air with the dog. However, the effect on my energy levels and the day was greater than I had thought. I feel so much more awake, and the days feel like they are going by quicker. On my walks there are people to greet, waves, smiles, hellos and good mornings. A simple hi really can change your outlook for the day.

However, getting back to jogging is not quite as simple. From stitches to desperate toilet dashes this week’s jogs have been eventful, even the distance covered was reduced. But with the return of my jogging partner from her holiday next week I am sure I will build my stamina back up again. And I really enjoy getting back to my work out routine even if the outcomes are not as high. A sense of normality, of freedom to be out exercising in nature.

The end of the week brings my 2nd vaccination and a with it a feeling of hope. The vaccination programme’s numbers are promising with movement towards getting to the under 18s. So, while I may have the side effects of a drumming headache, heavy arm and tiredness I know it will pass and the world will emerge from this pandemic.
