Covid-19

Covid-19 – Week sixty nine: beginning 28/06/2021

This week has been a busy one, with so much to do I have spent the week in drive. Driving through the week to complete as much as possible in my work and home life. There are highs and lows to my situation. An obvious high is the great sense of achievement and structure I feel getting through a list of jobs. While, not so obvious at the time, the lows bring exhaustion, burn out and the unrealistic expectations many of us place on ourselves. However, the one good thing in life is that time moves forward and with the evenings comes time to recharge.

So, while I could list off what kept me in drive this week, I am pretty sure we have all been there done that and we don’t need the t-shirt. So instead let’s focus on the evenings spent chilled and re-charging for the next day. Now usually we would spend our relaxation time switching off with easy watching movies and tv series of the comedy genre. However, this week the Euros 2020 is in full swing, with England playing a great match and winning against Germany 2 – 0 placing them in the quatre final. While I may not be the biggest football fan ever, I cannot help but get caught up in the excitement of it all and sing along to ‘Football’s coming home’.

It is great that through football the nation has been brought together in anticipation and about something that is not covid. With messages of come on England, todays the day England V Denmark, match day deals and many other variations everywhere accompanied by our red and white flag. In the butchers the bbq packs were all football themed, but definitely appreciated with the sunny weather and matches to enjoy with England on their way to bringing football home.
