Covid-19 – Week fifty nine: beginning 19/04/2021

Spring has arrived? With frosty cold mornings and hot sunny days. So, while breakfasts remain winter warming porridge oats, baked oats, scrambled egg or fresh waffles. We make the most of the good weather and enjoy BBQ food and rice salads. Summer is on the horizon now and with each mealtime I realise how much I look forward to and enjoy food. It seems sad to say that life is about food. But with the contrasting hot and cold weather food I am eating, my diet seems as comical as life.

And this week does not disappoint, it is full of comedy. We almost end up with a plate of vegetables four our Sunday dinner in the garden! As we dig into a delicious lamb dinner, my future-in-laws recount the tale of popping back inside the house for a forgotten item, only to spot the leg of lamb not yet in the oven! Better than no food at all though.

As when we call to see my parents at the caravan, they comment that their travel toaster isn’t working, after tripping the RCD at breakfast. My Partner offers to take a look, checking the elements only to find a spoon in the bottom of the toaster. What an unexpected item to find its way into a toaster during storage.

Following the comedy, my future mother in-laws has unexpected visitors, creating what can only be referred to now as the wormy class. She had been really looking forward to her exercise classes returning outside. Little did she know so had the worms, who as she danced on her designated social distancing spot came above ground to join in.

Honestly you couldn’t make this stuff up. But it does make life much more entertaining.
